Blog for 2021
A look back at my creations and news for 2021!

I’m done for the year. Forty five(ish) quilts of my own, although only 2 large ones, and 76 customer quilts on the longarm. Thrown in are countless bowl cozies, zip bags, pot holders, prayer flags, and book marks. I am surprised, looking back, at how much the focus was on small wall quilts. It’s due to being in the women’s co-op gallery here in Taos. It’s not the right venue for large quilts, so I was ‘forced’ to branch out. But I miss the big ones. Starting in January, I already have the plans (and the fabric!) for 2 large quilts. One for our bed, one for fun. Well, they’re both for fun…

2022 will see a new longarm (once I sell my current one!). This Innova 22″, non-computerized machine is for sale.

It works perfectly fine! I just like new gadgets….I’ve played on Innova’s new model, and the rest is history. Let me know if you talk to anyone over Christmas Dinner who wishes Santa had brought them a longarm!

I’ve been intrigued by fabric faces (face collage…fabric face art….so many names) . I took a class with Melissa Averinos, and I’ve admired faces by Freddy Moran (of course) and Jean Impey. I’ve come up with 4, and have about a dozen more in mind!

They’re fun, and pretty quick!

Our little guild has puttered along through the year, with lots of Covid guidelines and limitations. We miss the ones who choose not to get the vaccine. I’ll never understand it. We’ve had outdoor gatherings, and a small class taught by our own Terrie Mangat. I can’t wait to go to a quilt show in 2022.

For Christmas this year, Santa will bring Ruby Lou and Millie Rose over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house they fly. Four 1/2, and one 1/2. Now that’s Christmas! And late Hanukkah!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year, and thanks for checking in!
