All In A Day’s Work

All In A Day’s Work

Here's a quilt pattern designed by Scott Hensen. I found it in a magazine, but I can't remember the name of the magazine! Most of the fabric is from Tim Holtz's Eclectic Elements line.

I made this for my brother.  I know he is going to enjoy the cozy black minky on the back.  This was my first time to use minky.

The only issue I had with the minky is that some minky fuzz was pulled to the top of the quilt as I stitched.

I tried different needles without much luck.  In spots, the fuzz didn't come through at all.  It was strange.  The tension was good....not sure how or why it was happening.  Most of it washed away, and the rest is barely noticable.  It's a very cool quilt, in my humble opinion!

In the meantime, work continues on my Midnight Run quilt.   Unhappy with all those solid black blocks, I dug in and pulled them out.  24 of them. Ugh.  Pulled all that fabric out again, and made about 20 more blocks.  I had a few unused ones left over, which helped a little.  After laying them out, I kept losing track of where they were, hence the blue cups......

Voila, no more black blocks!

Now to sew them back in there!
